The old Willys pickups were the inspiration, and the 46 Chev bed was the perfect size to integrate with a Wrangler cab shortened to pickup cab length.

The tailgate is one of your smooth tailgate covers; I welded in a Jeep CJ embossing to make the tailgate look like it could be from the Jeep factory.”
