I am attaching a few photos of my “just finished” 1957 Chevy Big Window, short box pickup. It has taken three years to rebuild this truck from original to its current condition. I used many Mar-K parts, including bed sides with no-pockets and stainless angles welded on, front bed panel, tailgate with hidden latches and supports, your oak bed wood (which I used POR-15 on the bottom along with 3 coats each of West System Marine Epoxy and Dupont Automotive Clear on the tops and sides), polished stainless bed strips, Stainless bed supports, your rear bed support and roll pan. I modified the roll pan to the width of the bed sides and frenched in four 41 Chevy tail lights. I also closed the front of the bed roll and rounded the back ends using exhaust tubing. I closed the ends of the bed sides where they meet the tail gate and I made a custom lock on the outside of the tailgate that pulls in the hidden Mar-K tailgate latches. I welded in insert plates for screw-in load tie down eyes and extended and rounded the stake pockets. I chopped the roof 1.5”, and the hood 1.75”, then rounded the square corners of the doors and shaved the drip rails and emblems.

The tuck has a Chevy 292 Inline six built by Clifford Performance, hooked up to a 700R4 tranny and 4-link Chevelle 10 bolt with posi. Front suspension is 70-81 Camaro, but its all new mounting points and crossover (not a grafted clip). I made the custom bed cover using 1” stainless angle around 1” square Aluminum tubing, covered with a 14 gauge aluminum sheet and convertible top fabric. The cover is remote controlled with Electric Life actuators. Other features include PS, PB, PW, Air, Cruise, Tilt, and a 400 Watt sound system with two 10” subs.

I've taken the truck to 8 shows in MN, IA, and WI and it's received 11 awards so far, but it's NO trailer queen. I drive it daily!!!!
